Hughes Communications India Reports Close to $25M in Orders, Plans for Growth

MSP Hughes Communications India Limited (HCIL) has had a stellar year so far. The company, a subsidiary of broadband satellite networks and services provider Hughes Network Systems LLC, said it had received close to $25 million in orders in the first half of the financial year.

HCIL has also decided to provide its satellite-based services to a variety of public and private banks and financial institutions in India. The company has received managed services orders from banks with more than 800 locations across India. HCIL will also enable and establish white label ATM services at 600 locations for Tata Communications Payment Services Limited.

According to a report from Techaisle, managed services are on the rise among small to medium-sized businesses in India. Around 10.2 percent of firms are taking advantage of managed services, with an additional 12 percent of organizations saying they plan to adopt managed services. The Indian managed services market is currently valued at $442 million.

HCIL’s managed services offerings are vast, including everything from cloud productivity solutions to network, interactive education and kiosk e-services. The company also, of course, specializes in satellite broadband services.

The MSP has plans to grow its network by establishing and maintaining end-to-end satellite broadband connectivity for three to five years at multiple locations throughout India. HCIL will accomplish this through targeted partnerships with Punjab and Sind Bank, Bombay Stock Exchange and British Gas.
