Two major colocation and managed service providers (MSPs) have joined forces to boost their cloud initiatives. C7 Data Centers announced it has acquired MSP IntegraTechs Corporation in a move that will add a variety of managed services to its roster.
C7 specializes in IT, cloud and data center colocation services. The acquisition will enable the company to offer a wider variety of IT support solutions, including cloud migration, development, security and IT outsourcing.
"Demand from small, medium and large enterprises for cloud expertise and managed services is growing rapidly, and we needed to meet this demand with a quality operation,” said Wes Swenson, CEO of C7. “IntegraTechs has a tremendous client base, as well as a 24/7 support center. Generally it takes some time for a services provider to reach this scale and we feel IntegraTechs adds a critical support function and real asset to our company and to our clients."
MSPs are increasingly joining forces, either through acquisitions or strategic partnerships, in an effort to expand their offerings and appeal to a wider client base. And as the market for managed services moves more and more into the cloud, specializations in cloud migration and development are going to be a necessity for service providers who wish to remain competitive.
Swenson said IntegraTechs will help support C7’s cloud efforts in the company’s FuseApp line of services. The FuseApp VMware Cloud Environment uses the vCloud Director interface to manage VMs in C7 data centers. The company plans to enlarge its support for virtual desktops as well as beef up cloud migration, support and design services. C7 also plans to expand its security practices.
Integratechs specializes in FuseApp, and the company’s Private Cloud Suite helps companies maintain granular control over their cloud infrastructures. It also offers the flexibility to scale as needs arise, and the company offers other solutions as add-ons including failover disaster recover, IDS/IDP services and compliance with PCI and HIPAA. Integratechs also has VMware VCP certified engineers offering round-the-clock support.
IntegraTechs will bring around 60 staff members to the table, and C7 plans to expand to more than 100 during the next year, according to Swenson. The company will be folded into C7 as its own division, to be known as IT Services and Cloud Management, in support of FuseApp Cloud products and services.
