MSP Venyu Integrates Security from Alert Logic through New Partnership

By Laura Stotler

As managed service providers (MSPs) increasingly diversify their offerings through partnerships and integrations, securing cloud offerings becomes of paramount importance. In an effort to address security concerns head on, MSP and cloud services provider Venyu has partnered with Alert Logic, a provider of Security as a Service for the cloud.

The new partnership has Venyu embedding data protection from Alert Logic through integrated delivery of intrusion detection and log management. Venyu will also benefit from Alert Logic's 24x7 Security Operations Center (SOC), which is staffed by certified analysts.

By working with Alert Logic, Venyu will be enhancing its cloud security practices with a number of new features. These include Alert Logic's Threat Manager with ActiveWatch, a solution that uses intelligent multifactor correlation to identify suspicious activity in network traffic, which could be potentially harmful to IT assets. A Level 1 SOC analyst from Alert Logic then validates the threat and notifies customers directly with recommendations.

Additional security features also include the Log Manager, which collects, aggregates and normalizes log data regardless of whether it originates on-premises, within the cloud or in a hosted environment. The Log Review solution offers integrated review and case management functionality, enabling MSPs to track and report on incident trends. It also provides built-in workflow and case management tools, creating an auditable trail and overview of security and compliance operations.

"Venyu is committed to delivering the most up-to-date features to protect our customers' data from virtually any security threat," said Scott Thompson, CEO of Venyu. "Our partnership with Alert Logic helps us meet these criteria by integrating best-practice security monitoring solutions backed by the industry's smartest security analysts." Venyu offers a variety of managed services including colocation, cloud hosting and backup, managed hosting and disaster recovery and business continuity. The company can source, implement and manage a complete IT ecosystem including expanded backup services. Venyu maintains data centers at its headquarters in Baton Rouge as well as a facility in Shreveport-Bossier that is build to U.S. Department of Defense anti-terrorism force protection codes. The MSP counts among its customers the New England Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens. The sports organizations use Venyu's RestartIT solution for automatic off-site backups with on-demand restore capabilities.
