Skybox Security introduced Skybox 13.2, an upgraded version of its Vulnerability and Threat Management solution, marking a significant step forward in vulnerability prioritization and attack surface management.
The latest release addresses the limitations of traditional vulnerability scanners by combining industry-standard CVSS severity with customer-specific insights, such as an asset's business importance and network accessibility, to offer a more tailored approach. The new version also offers predictive analytics, scoring vulnerabilities based on the likelihood of future exploits, and enhanced precision in prioritization - all while focusing on the highest-risk issues.
“Organizations no longer have to feel like they are scrambling to stay ahead,” said Adi Dubin, VP of Product Management at Skybox. “By integrating predictive insights, industry-standard metrics, and customer-specific risk-scoring metrics, Skybox empowers organizations to rapidly identify and remediate vulnerabilities, reducing exposure and protecting their critical assets.”
Key features of Skybox 13.2 include Predictive Vulnerability Exploitability, which forecasts the likelihood of future exploitation; Enhanced Attack Surface Management, providing visibility into all applications and their relevant assets and network services; Integration with Palo Alto Prisma Cloud, incorporating misconfiguration alerts to enhance asset risk scoring in cloud-native technology stacks; Consolidated Vulnerability Management, supporting IT, operational technology, and cloud vulnerability management initiatives; and Immediate Action Recommendations, offering detailed analysis and recommended security controls for swift risk mitigation.
These enhancements address critical challenges faced by organizations, delivering benefits such as Customer-Specific Risk Scoring, where vulnerabilities are prioritized based on business impact and exposure; Exposure Analysis, factoring real-world risk into prioritization calculations; and Comprehensive Application Visibility, facilitated by the enhanced Model Explorer, providing a deeper understanding of an organization's application landscape and network services interactions. With a focus on actionable insights, Skybox 13.2 empowers organizations to take immediate steps to mitigate risks, bridging exposure gaps until patches can be applied.
“Prioritization in cybersecurity has always been a juggling act. We recognize that exploitability is paramount in prioritization, as it determines an attacker’s potential for misusing a vulnerability,” said Mordecai Rosen, CEO of Skybox Security. “Armed with the knowledge these new product updates provide, organizations can swiftly identify which vulnerabilities pose the most risk now — and in the future, including ones that may not have an exploit available yet. This actionable intelligence empowers them to make strategic resource allocation decisions, ensuring their defenses are focused on protecting the most vulnerable and valuable assets.”
