ManageEngine, the enterprise IT management division of Zoho Corporation, announced it boosted its Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) solution, Endpoint Central, by incorporating next-generation antivirus (NGAV) capabilities. This transforms the offering into a comprehensive Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP) and reinforces its portfolio of cybersecurity solutions.
In today's evolving cyber landscape, NGAV is exactly what’s needed to help identify vulnerabilities that traditional antivirus solutions may miss.
Endpoint Central's NGAV uses the power of deep learning and neural networks, together with behavioral detection to identify both known and unknown threats, including novel attack patterns.
With real-time, edge-AI-based protection and offline capabilities, it’s possible to have on-device monitoring, analysis, and remediation workflows.
"Endpoints have been one of the most utilized threat vectors by cybercriminals for quite some time now," said Mathivanan Venkatachalam, vice president of ManageEngine. "Over the last decade, we have been consistently adding endpoint security capabilities like vulnerability assessment and remediation, browser security, endpoint privilege management, data leakage prevention and anti-ransomware, helping organizations minimize the attack surface. With the release of the NGAV capability, we are adding AI-based malware protection to Endpoint Central, rounding it off as an EPP, thereby providing customers with a holistic cyber defense approach."
ManageEngine has a 20-year history in the IT management sector. With Endpoint Central, streamlined device management, remote troubleshooting, user experience management, and heightened endpoint security are all made possible through a single, lightweight agent.
For organizations, this not only means their IT footprint is strengthened with a broad range of remediation policies, but security teams can also quickly apply patches, isolate affected devices, reset login credentials, revert devices to approved configurations, and remove vulnerable applications.
Thanks to built-in remote troubleshooting and system management capabilities, quick and comprehensive incident investigations of quarantined devices is also possible.
“We aim to offer an AI-powered, unified, end-to-end platform for the digital enterprise in which cyber resilience is of paramount importance," said Venkatachalam. "The platform will enable customers to devise and implement a comprehensive security strategy by building workflows across multiple ManageEngine security offerings, automating threat detection, threat responses and incident investigation.”
