Cbeyond Expands Microsoft Cloud Partnership by Offering Enhanced Datacenter Features for MSPs and VARs

By Laura Stotler

In a partnership that will benefit U.S. MSPs and VARs, Cbeyond has teamed up with Microsoft in a new cloud marketing alliance. The deal has Cbeyond encouraging MSPs and VARs to move their SMB customers to Cbeyond’s cloud, thereby highlighting Microsoft’s numerous Cloud OS technologies like Windows Server, Hyper-V, and System Center.

The move is indicative of Microsoft’s increasing cloud focus and represents diversity beyond their Azure IaaS offering. Cbeyond fits well into the picture, offering their customers its TotalCloud Partner Edition platform that is based on Microsoft Cloud OS technologies. The cloud platform enables private, public and hybrid cloud deployments that are based on Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and enable a multi-tenant datacenter and cloud infrastructure.

"Our TotalCloud Partner Edition platform is all about giving more choices to MSPs and VARs," said Paul Carmody, chief marketing officer, Cbeyond. "Enabling access to Microsoft's robust, cutting-edge Cloud OS infrastructure is a valuable option for these partners to serve their SMB clients with enterprise-class services."

Cbeyond has been working to market TotalCloud to MSPs and other channel partners, and the company recently attended the Cloud4SMB Expo in Miami to spread the word. TotalCloud enables the company’s partners to white label and manage their cloud platforms simply and cost effectively. The platform also helps with scheduling and managing tasks like backups, OS patching and anti-virus services.

Datacenter features include multiple virtual computer and storage bundles and security options for compliance support. The platform also offers integrated network connectivity and self-service applications, and service providers may also choose from dedicated or shared storage as well as dedicated physical services for creating private or hybrid cloud deployments.

"By embracing Cloud OS technologies, Cbeyond has the ability to provide unified management, single identity across clouds with integrated virtualization, enabling organizations to shift to more efficiently managing datacenter resources as a whole," said Aziz Benmalek, general manager, Partner Hosting & Cloud Services at Microsoft Corp.
