Data Foundry is beefing up security services at its data center and colocation facilities throughout the world through a new partnership with Alert Logic. The companies announced they are teaming up to integrate Security-as-a-Service solutions from Alert Logic into Data Foundry’s managed service offerings.
Managed service provider (MSP) Data Foundry, which provides disaster recovery and other managed solutions, will integrate vulnerability assessment, intrusion detection and log management services from Alert Logic into their managed security services suite. The offerings will provide both Data Foundry and its enterprise customers a number of advantages in the areas of compliance and security.
Security-as-a-Service from Alert Logic offers compliance with payment card industry (PCI) standards as well as a fully managed SaaS delivery model. Solutions also include 24x7 Security Operations Center (SOC) services for monitoring and expert advice and guidance, and are deployable anywhere that customers have IT infrastructure, including in the cloud.
"In this era of increasingly sophisticated attacks, the key to intrusion detection is visibility into the activity on systems, applications and devices," said Edward Henigin, CTO for Data Foundry. "By partnering with Alert Logic, we now have a best-in-class IDS and compliance solution in our managed services portfolio to offer customers."
The global cloud security market is expected to top $6 billion by 2016, according to a report from Transparency Market Research. As the software-as-as-service (SaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) models grow in popularity and adoption, those market segments are expected to have high levels of security system adoption.
Early detection of threats is a crucial component of providing security-as-a-service, and Data Foundry will now offer a variety of options for customers to manage and monitor potential threats. The MSP will offer the Alert Logic Threat Manager, Log Manager and Web Security Manager through its portfolio. The Threat Manager identifies malicious behavior automatically as well as questionable network patterns from inside and outside customers’ networks. The Log Manager collects and archives log data on security related events, while the Web Security Manager protects cloud environments by blocking web application attacks through signature-based detection and application behavior profiling. Alert Logic also provides its ActiveWatch and LogReview 24x7 Managed Security services for human analysis, review and expert insights on real-time threats and alerts.
