Statra Taps into Exoprise Monitoring

By Doug Barney

IT services provider Statêra has a new deal to resell monitoring and enablement services that support SaaS applications from Exoprise. The Exoprise tool is CloudReady Monitor for Office 365, which is designed to migrate on-premises Office apps to the Microsoft cloud.

Exoprise, which sells through managed service providers, manages Office 365 through “crowd-enhanced data analytics,” and point-of-access monitoring to spot and help solve problems.

Statêra will offer these Office 365 optimization services to its Cloud Service Brokerage customers.

“By offering their clients the same visibility and control they have with on-premise applications, Statêra is accelerating those organizations’ move to the cloud and all the benefits that come with that,” said Warren Mead, vice president of sales and business development at Exoprise. “That creates important advantages - in both the services Statêra can offer and the time to value its customer will realize.”

Statêra’s CloudReady Monitor offers visibility and performance tracking both in the cloud and on the premises, behind the firewall. The tools uses crowd-based data to understand common problems and find ways to support service performance.

Now with both tools in hand, Statêra can analyze client’s on-premises situation and figure what licensing model to choose as they move to the Microsoft cloud.

“Exoprise’s robust monitoring and enablement capabilities are part of our growing Microsoft eco-sphere for Cloud Services Brokerage,” stated Mathew Shuster, CTO, Statêra. “These offerings help our customers move to the cloud with confidence and take full advantage of all the capabilities of Office 365.”

The Cost of Office 365

Last year a piece of Microsoft partner sponsored research analyzed Office 365 versus a private cloud solution. Research sponsor Azeleos sells Microsoft apps to run on-premises or on a private cloud. The company wanted to find out how those costs compared to a pure Microsoft cloud Office 365 environment.

For small shops, Office 365 turns out about a fifth cheaper. Go up the ladder a bit to where the shop needs all the Office 365 apps such as SharePoint and Lync, then the private cloud is one fifth cheaper. This is because the highest level version of Office 365 in the cloud costs more than running that same software on your own commodity servers.

Statêra Backgrounder

Statêra, Latin for balance, focuses on moving enterprises to the cloud, with a particular emphasis on collaboration, mobile and CRM.

It also provides custom software programming, consulting, and project management.

The now 12 year-old company was launched after a huge consulting project went well. Founders Carl Fitch and Brad Weydert worked together on a $70 million project for Raymond James Consulting venture. In the course of that work, the pair built a methodology and framework aimed at IT efficiency, and launched Statera to promulgate those ideas.
