As part of its plan to gain traction in the managed infrastructure and business intelligence (BI) space, Vector Security, Inc. has acquired Industry Retail Group, Inc. (IRG). Vector is an integrator of physical security solutions serving retailers and multi-site businesses throughout North America.
The acquisition of IRG enables Vector to expand its services and offer business intelligence solutions, creating turnkey offerings for its customers. IRG specializes in custom managed network services, serving thousands of Fortune 100 retailer sites. The company's customers also include quick-serve restaurants and convenience store chains.
IRG provides design, provisioning and logistics all the way through to deployment of networks. Managed offerings range from IP communications to application and professional services and a number of plug-in applications. These include Hotspot and enterprise Wi-Fi offerings, mobility solutions, hosted VoIP and IP-based video surveillance.
Vector plans to market the new managed services through the IRG brand as a Vector Security company. All IRG employees have been retained through the acquisition, with the IRG team slated to work closely with the Vector Security national accounts team in Gainesville, Va. The corporate headquarters for IRG will be in Warrendale, Pa.
"Today, customers are seeking to leverage their existing broadband networks for more and more services – connectivity, analytics, technology testing, business intelligence and security," said Pam Petrow, president and CEO of Vector. Petrow will assume leadership over IRG as well.
"Customers want broader insight and intelligence into their operations at all levels," she added. "This acquisition is the catalyst for us to define that new market segment and positions us to support the physical security and broadband infrastructure needs of our customers today and into the future. The move also sets us apart from other providers by allowing us to bring security solutions into a broadband-based, application-driven marketplace."
"IRG brings the experience, technical expertise and passion to support the dynamic needs of retailers and multi-site companies to the Vector Security family," said Mike Luzio, CEO of IRG. "Together we have the opportunity to offer customers a modular platform that simplifies the management of their infrastructure and gives them actionable, real-time intelligence that is second to none. We look forward to proactively addressing our customers' unique needs for managed services and security."
