Colt and Versa Networks Revolutionize Global Connectivity with 1,000 SD-WAN Services

By Stefania Viscusi

Digital infrastructure company Colt Technology Services announced it achieved a milestone in collaboration with strategic partner Versa Networks as it marked the successful delivery of 1,000 Versa SD-WAN services across 55 countries. This was achieved through seamless automation since the program’s launch in April 2023.

The two companies leverage AI/ML-powered Unified Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) and Software-Defined WAN (SD-WAN) solutions to enhance digital services for global customers.

Colt remains committed to simplifying digital services with the development of an advanced automation framework that integrates with internal systems via APIs. By harnessing the capabilities of the Versa SD-WAN platform, Colt reduced provisioning time from a laborious 90 minutes to a swift 12 seconds. This automation not only accelerates service deployment but also minimizes the risk of manual errors so businesses can focus on their core operations rather than managing digital infrastructure.

Colt’s technology also aligns with environmental goals. By intelligently prioritizing traffic based on application usage, Colt’s SD-WAN selects energy-efficient routes for non-critical applications. This commitment to reducing emissions also resonates with enterprises striving for sustainability.

“We listen intently to our customers and constantly look for ways to improve and innovate to make their lives easier. Automating and simplifying the delivery of our SD-WAN services is a critical part of this continuous improvement mission. Remotely provisioning our 1,000th Versa SD-WAN service shows how important automation has become in our customers’ journeys to digital transformation. It’s a testament to the strength of our longstanding partnership with Versa,” said Carlos Jesus, Vice President – Service Delivery, at Colt Technology Services.

A 2023 Gartner report predicts substantial growth in the SASE market. From $7 billion in 2022 to $25 billion by 2027, with a CAGR of 29%. Colt’s collaboration with Versa Networks positions them at the forefront of this transformative market.

Colt’s SD-WAN and SASE business growth is driven by the fact that today’s enterprises are prioritizing security and transitioning to cloud-based services. Also, as remote work becomes the norm, the need for efficient and secure network access, which Colt delivers, has become a must.

“We are delighted to partner with Colt to deliver these industry-leading automation capabilities,” said Hector Avalos, Vice President of EMEA MSPs at Versa Networks. “The enhanced combination of our capabilities and Colt’s technology bridges the gap between an organization’s business objectives and enforcement of Versa’s SD-WAN network, enabling Colt’s customers to achieve faster time-to-value, reduced costs, and improved agility.”

This latest milestone also coincides with Colt’s 100-day anniversary since acquiring Lumen EMEA in November 2023. Throughout this period, Colt has diligently integrated the two organizations, ensuring seamless service delivery to customers worldwide.
