Seamless Communication Made Easy with Ooma Office Advanced Features

By Greg Tavarez

Effective and efficient communication is a vital aspect of running a successful business. Whether it's connecting with clients, collaborating with team members or managing customer support, seamless communication is an organization’s backbone.

Ooma, a telecommunications company that has gained popularity for its cost-effective communication solutions and recognized for its reliable call quality and user-friendly features, is dedicated to enhancing its smart communications platform to keep that “backbone” intact and healthy for organizations, specifically SMBs.

One of its phone systems, Ooma Office, is designed to provide SMBs with a cost-effective and feature-rich communication solution. The VoIP-based solution offers a range of essential business phone features, including a virtual receptionist, extension dialing, call forwarding, call transfer, conference calling, voicemail and call waiting. These features enable efficient call management and enhance professional communication.

It’s no wonder Ooma Office is recognized among business to the point where it has been named the Business Choice award winner for Best VoIP System for the 10th consecutive year by PC Magazine.

Still, even with the things it has achieved, Ooma is taking Ooma Office to the next level with a set of advanced capabilities that further enhance productivity and streamline communication for SMBs. The newly introduced features include:

  • Call Screening: An essential tool for avoiding unwanted distractions and combating robocalls. Call Screening greets incoming callers, prompting them to record their name. The recipient's phone then rings with an automated message and playback of the recorded name, enabling them to decide whether to accept or reject the call.
  • Distinctive Ringtones: Assigning unique ringtones to specific business groups allows for instant identification of incoming calls, such as sales or customer service calls. This feature helps streamline call routing and improves response time.
  • Call Deflection to Text: When the Ooma Office Virtual Receptionist answers a call, this capability offers the option to send the caller a pre-written text message. It enables businesses to provide quick information or initiate text-based support interactions.
  • Call Leaderboard: Managers supervising call center operations can now access a leaderboard displaying comprehensive call statistics for each team member. This feature provides valuable insights into call volumes, average durations and more, facilitating performance monitoring and optimization.
  • Faxing from the Mobile App: Ooma Office's mobile app now allows users to send faxes directly from their smartphones. This feature enhances mobility and enables users to manage document transmission conveniently.

"The new capabilities we announced are intended to make Ooma Office even more valuable by providing additional tools for efficiently managing phone calls, texts, faxes and videoconferences," said Dennis Peng, Ooma's vice president of product management.

These additions, available across various Ooma Office service plans, expand the system's capabilities without additional cost to customers. Plans are Ooma Office Essentials at $19.95 per user per month, Ooma Office Pro at $24.95 per user and Ooma Office Pro Plus at $29.95 per user.
