Buchanan Technologies Gains SOC 2 Type 2 Certification for Managed Services

By Stefania Viscusi

Managed services provider Buchanan Technologies, which provides managed IT services for mid-tier and enterprise-level organizations across the United States, Canada, and Europe, has announced the successful completion of Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type 2 certification for its Managed Services system.

This certification completes an independent audit to verify that verifies Buchanan Technologies’ internal controls and processes meet security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy requirements.

The companies flexible and customizable solutions accommodate IT needs for businesses including help desk support, IT field services, or managed IT solutions.

The audit was conducted by Moss Adams from June 1, 2020, to February 28, 2021, and certifies that Buchanan’s managed services practices and related policies, procedures, and operations meet all SOC 2 standards.

The SOC 2 auditing procedure ensures a service provider is securely managing data and protecting the interests of the organizations and the privacy of its clients.

“At Buchanan, we are committed to our client’s privacy and security and strive to uphold the most stringent controls to safeguard their data,” said Jim Buchanan, Founder, and CEO of Buchanan Technologies. “We believe our SOC 2 accreditation is reflective of this commitment and further strengthens our managed services offerings.”

During the audit, Moss Adams conducted rigorous testing of Buchanan Technologies’ controls and closely examined policies and procedures for communication and information, risk assessment, monitoring activities, control activities, logical and physical access controls, system operations, change management, risk mitigation, and other critical operational areas.

MSP Expo is happening from June 22-25 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. This premier conference and networking summit is where MSP business owners and technology specialists come together to share strategies that will grow their managed service businesses.
