Datto Picks NEXTGEN Asia as Distribution Partner in Southeast Asia

By Stefania Viscusi

MSP technology company Datto announced recently it would be expanding its investment in Southeast Asia to provide more solutions for MSPs to help small and medium-sized businesses improve and secure their networks. Now they’re announcing the first distribution partner in the region - NEXTGEN Asia.

In addition to helping accelerate growth in the area, the partnership will offer Managed Service Provider expertise and Datto Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) for businesses. Having these advanced solutions in place will help businesses to avoid downtime, disruptions, and other threats that can occur as the result of a cyber attack.

Commenting on the partnership, NEXTGEN Group CEO John Walters said, “Security is a major concern in the region. Some markets in Southeast Asia have been the most targeted globally with ransomware. Consequently, cyber incidents have become the top business risk priority for customers in the region. At NEXTGEN, we have grown our cybersecurity practice tenfold and matured our service offerings dramatically over the past eighteen months. We look forward to supporting Datto’s growth strategy in the region.”

Specifically, Datto’s tools allow MSPs to protect their customer’s data and regain access to it after a ransomware incident or other security issue thanks to customized backup and recovery tools.

The partnership will also help address some of the pain points for businesses that cripple their operations by providing a broader education, awareness, and solutions.

Working to move the distribution partnership along will be Executive Vice President and Managing Director of NEXTGEN Asia, Wendy O’Keeffe. She will be focused on helping to create partnerships that grow and build the brands together.

“Datto already has a significant channel community with over 17,000 MSPs worldwide. It is a 100% channel-only business which is critical to building trust. We have a joint plan to grow the Datto partner community and augment their current partnerships with an enriched level of technical, operational, and sales and marketing excellence across Datto’s core technologies which are aimed at building cyber resilience for SMEs,” said O’Keeffe.

Be sure to check out MSP Expo where MSP business owners and technology specialists come together to share strategies that help grow their managed services businesses. Happening June 22 - 25, 2021 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, this is a chance to network with more than 2,000 global MSPs, MSSPs & Channel Pros.
