AlarmReady Increases Situational Awareness for ABP Technology IP Video Surveillance Solutions

While cyber security is leading the headlines, physical security is also a must to reduce burglaries and employee theft.    Employee theft, in fact, costs U.S. businesses $50 billion annually.  This alone is enough to drive businesses to install IP video surveillance cameras to help alert managers and owners when unauthorized access takes place or to be able to monitor for theft.

There are many high quality IP video surveillance solutions available – many of them cost effective for the SMB market, while still providing the high quality and features needed to protect businesses.  But, there is an inherent challenge with alarms triggered by surveillance solutions related to situational awareness.  Even though alerts may have been triggered, business leaders don’t always have an easy mechanism for verifying the exact nature or location of the event.

That’s where AlarmReady comes in.  It provides an alarm system video verification solution that can easily be attached to any IP video surveillance solution to drive greater situational awareness, visibility, increase response times, and more easily identity false alarms.

“People are nervous in alarm situations and AlarmReady simplifies this process and guides end users directly to the cameras they need to see,” said Robert Messer, CEO at ABP Technology, which not only sells MOBOTIX IP surveillance cameras, but now also the AlarmReady solution as well.  “AlarmReady provides additional situational awareness, user-friendliness, and overall simplicity of the system. Primary design factors give the end user as seamless an experience as possible.”

AlarmReady is a cloud-based solution, designed for commercial installations (though also highly applicable for high-end residences).  When an alarm is activated at monitored locations, the system sends a video verification to business owners, homeowners, and any other key individuals.  They system can also be configured to send the same detail to alarm monitoring services.  These verifications can be delivered to any mobile or fixed device, including via SMS to ensure users are immediately notified anywhere with alarm location and immediate access to the camera(s) that registered the activity.

The first implementation of AlarmReady will be for MOBOTIX camera systems and will be included as a free beta feature with MxLINQ, the mobile universal viewer, alert, and control tool for MOBOTIX surveillance system end users.

“AlarmReady, together with decentralized intelligent MOBOTIX cameras and MxLINQ Cloud Access, provides the highest situational awareness in the market,” adds Messer.

Depending on system configuration, users may be able to play audio messages through the MOBOTIX cameras to ward off would-be thieves, or even turn on lights, lock doors, close gates, or leverage other IP connected features to prevent loss or damage.

ABPTech is the exclusive AlarmReady distributor in the United States.
