Netsapiens Offers Details on PaaS Plans

By Paula Bernier

Netsapiens will be rolling out a platform-as-a-service option in the fourth quarter, Ken Adams says. The company outfits service providers with contact center, hosted PBX, and unified communications services, which they in turn can sell to their customers.

The new PaaS solution is for organizations that want their own platforms, but without having to buy servers and have their own colos, etc., explained Adams, who represented netsapiens at the recent MSP Expo. With PaaS, service providers can buy on a subscription basis, and the subscription will grow as they grow, says Adams.

Speaking of MSPs, the netsapiens vice president of marketing and partnerships says some MSPs now have big enough staffs to handle UC on their own instead of via agencies. He also talked about how netsapiens has expanded its channel sales effort, and recently brought aboard channel expert Jason Beckett. An industry veteran and former Allworx/Windstream sales director, Beckett is working on the netsapiens PaaS effort.

And next month netsapiens will come out with a new software release, says Adams. That will include some contact center enhancements as well as the introduction of the new SNAPbuilder feature.

SNAPbuilder enables users to program phones using a visual interface; it then sends that information to the phone. Initially, SNAPbuilder will support phones from Polycom, Vtech, and Yealink.

Netsapiens markets a variety of solutions under the SNAP name. For example, it recently rolled out SNAPvantage. That’s a billing and operational support system platform that allows for everything from billing to provisioning.

The company also continues to expand its slate of integration partners.

Mondago is among the companies it’s working with on this front.

The next MSP Expo – to take place in January/February in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is now accepting pitches for speakers and sessions. For more information on that event and how to submit, click here.
