Xirrus Helps MSPs Fight Downtime

By Alicia Young

There are several reasons for downtime in companies—power outages, a slow period, like in accounting, unhappy employees and much more. No matter the cause, the outcome remains the same: lost revenue. In fact, according to IHS, information and communication technology downtime costs North American organizations $700 billion per year. That’s an unsettling amount of lost revenue, but Xirrus is looking to change that statistic.

Xirrus is a provider of next generation, cloud-enabled Wi-Fi networks, and yesterday it introduced its new MSP cloud-managed Wi-Fi solution and enhancements to its Xirrus CommandCenter. The solution was created specifically for MSPs, and provides users with the ability to monitor thousands of customer locations. The solution offers extensive visibility and monitoring capabilities and fast problem identification. In addition, new APIs are able to help MSPs integrate their service platforms into a Xirrus Wi-Fi network faster and more efficiently than ever before.

The latest enhancements to Xirrus CommandCenter enable MSPs to scale operations, monitor customers and respond immediately to cut down on downtime. The solution works for companies of all sizes, allowing them to manage customers by the dozens or even thousands. The platform also offers a network operations view for added visibility, meaning that customer management remains easy, no matter how many new customers there are.

The Xirrus CommandCenter benefits include the ability to create and manage an unlimited number of customers for ultimate scale; add new customer accounts and activate instantly; simple drag/drop assignment of equipment to and from customer accounts; fast problem resolution with built-in support and feedback tools; low wide area network traffic requirements leveraging distributed Xirrus AP architecture; integrated EasyPass access services for guests, BYOD and employees; single sign-on (SSO) Wi-Fi access integration with Microsoft Office 365 and Google Apps ecosystems; and extensible architecture with API integration into operations systems.

Xirrus is excited for its new solution, and looks forward to the ways in which is can help MSPs be more efficient. “The demand for value-add, Wi-Fi-enabled IT services is greater than ever, and the ease and speed at which MSPs enable new customers and increase revenue and profit is essential to their success,” said Jillian Mansolf, chief commercial officer at Xirrus. “The latest enhancements to CommandCenter make available the best solution on the market for MSPs to deliver, manage and ramp up services faster and more efficiently than ever before.”
