Yorktel Ends 2015 On a High Note, Looks Ahead to 2016

By Kyle Piscioniere

At this year’s ITEXPO, TMC reporters got the opportunity to interview key players from attending companies. One of the most insightful interviews came from Yorktel’s Vishal Brown, who sat down with Erik Linask to discuss Yorktel’s killer 2015, the future of workplaces, and how to thrive in a market that demands recurring revenue.

Brown and Linask kicked off their conversation with a look back at Yorktel’s year. Brown ran down a pretty illustrious 2015: “2015 was a great year. We had some very big accomplishments, and we won some awards. One of the big ones we won was at the end of last year, winning the Commercial Integrator of the Year Award for 2015. So we were very proud of that, and it’s really speaking to the flexibility of our services.” The company also won their first Emmy for their work in media with the American Veteran Center.

But Brown then turned to the challenges of both the past year and the coming months: continually winning business. Recurring revenue models depend on continual business, and Yorktel has high hopes. Brown outlined the impressive and extensive growth for Yorktel, especially in Managed Services, in the interview.

When asked to explain how Yorktel achieved such incredible growth, Brown replied, “There are quite a few reasons. Technology is becoming more and more complex…On the other side of that, when a company stands back and looks at themselves and goes, ‘Okay, I’m in pharmaceutical, I’m in banking, do they want to be in the business of managing video?’”

Brown also attributed his company’s success to their “elevated conversations,” in which the sales team targets C-suite executives, as opposed to IT Managers or CIOs, and then discussing business strategies. For all of Brown’s insightful comments – especially about the next generation workspace, which is fast closing in – check out the full interview below:
