Cleveland Indians Chooses AccelOps Platform to Address Top Security Concerns

By Daniel Brecht

Progressive Field is in a league of its own now when it comes to IT security. The Cleveland Indians, in fact, have chosen to boost the IP security surveillance by using AccelOps, an IT operations analytics platform that will allow them to have real-time analytics and alerts to remediate security problems instantly. According to Nick Korosi, senior network engineer with the Indians' IT staff, monitoring the entire infrastructure is a real challenge as, nowadays, all fans carry a large variety of devices with them at the game and a variety of services must be ensured: from real time info to ticketing. It is important, then, to get instant alerts (event correlation) on issues that need immediate attention. The partnership between AccelOps and the Cleveland Indians will allow the IT Team to analyze and automate response to any issues.

The Tribe knows they are no different from any other business organization, and are at risk of security threats. After evaluating other solutions, the Indians chose AccelOps' “all-in-one feature set” to reduce the number of security point solutions. AccelOps’ analytics-driven IT operations management platform will help the IT staff monitor security, performance and availability of systems in real-time. Even more, it will provide proactive insight for security management (SIEM) of the IT infrastructure and applications on a single platform.

Korosi further explained that by leveraging AccelOps platform, which can address the top concerns across many types of environments, the team will have a solution that will allow it to gain intelligence (and full visibility) behind its network: a solution to monitor, manage and optimize their IT services while boosting business efficiencies and performance. Using AccelOps’ all-in-one monitoring solution can improve effectiveness on all aspects of IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, network, security and applications, in a unified manner, says Flint Brenton, AccelOps president and CEO, which stated he is delighted that the Tribe drafted AccelOps for their team.

The Cleveland Indians chose AccelOps (an integrated security solutions provider and an emerging cloud vendor) because of the intuitiveness of its solution and its ease of use to detect and resolve problems promptly to pinpoint the source. The goal is for AccelOps’ integrated software platform to work as a hard-core reporting and alerting tool for the network without performance degradation and availability disruptions. Mr. Brenton assures AccelOps SIEM can give the team’s IT staff the secure network experience they seek to automatically discover and analyze all events without needing to log in to several different systems and manually sort through events and syslogs.

Overall, AccelOps’ patented analytics engine (with cross-correlation, statistical anomaly detection and real-time alerts when deviations occur) will simplify the collection of information that affects the franchise’s team IT network by means of event consolidation, smart anomaly detection, identity and location binding; security all from a single screen.
