IT Infrastructure Platform Provider SimpliVity Sees Massive Growth in First Half of 2013

By Laura Stotler

IT infrastructure platform provider SimpliVity has undergone rapid growth during the first half of 2013. The company, which provides the OmniCube platform and OmniStack technology, now has a customer base in the double digits, and shipments are approaching 100 systems. SimpliVity expects its total number of customers to exceed its original estimate of 100 by the end of the year.

SimpliVity's platform combines off-the-shelf x86 servers with the company's OmniStack technology to offer advanced data mobility, scalability and optimized performance. The solution features the Data Virtualization Engine (DVE), an accelerated, globally deduced, compressed and optimized data architecture that is helping to drive the company's rapid market adoption.

The company has also been focused on international expansion, with the opening of a German sales office in April. SimpliVity now has three major customer implementations in production environments in Europe, and has gained 12 reseller partners in the region since April. This builds upon the company's long-standing relationship with distributor SIT. The company is also branching out to the Asia-Pacific and Latin America regions as well, with plans to sign on new partners and distributors.

"As a system integrator we are always looking for the best possible solutions to offer our customers," said Ruud van Heusden, manager of Allsystems, a Netherlands-based reseller. "SimpliVity's OmniCube stood out in the market. We were so convinced of OmniCube's potential that we added it to our portfolio quickly after our first introduction. Now we can truly offer our customers an infrastructure solution that is easy to set up, manage, support and delivers great performance."

"In designing OmniCube, we realized that all IT organizations -- whether staffed by five people or 5,000 -- have the same underlying needs to reduce operating costs, simplify their environment and deliver higher quality of service to their customers," said Doron Kempel, CEO of SimpliVity. "We intentionally set out to deliver the technology that could address these needs, regardless of the size of the environment. We are now seeing that our ability to deliver clear, differentiated value across a very wide range of use cases is fueling extraordinary demand for OmniCube."

SimpliVity has also doubled its employee base since the beginning of the year, and expects to double it again by the end of the year. The growth is in response to customer, partner and geographical growth the company is undergoing at a rapid rate.

"The customer and partner traction that we see today is clear evidence that OmniCube is addressing a real need in the market," added Kempel. "This gives us confidence to further invest in the growth of the SimpliVity team which will allow us to further capitalize on this market opportunity and more rapidly bring OmniCube to all corners of the globe."
