Windstream to Open New Managed Hosting Facility

A brand new, 72,000-square-foot enterprise Managed Hosting facility is set to be opened by Windstream Hosted Solutions in Charlotte, N.C., later in the year. The company, a provider of managed hosting solutions, already has six data centers in North Carolina, with three located in Charlotte.

The new center will include multiple 10,000-square-foot data center suites and will be equipped to handle the service provider's full suite of offerings. These include cloud computing, dedicated hardware and data storage, managed services and helping clients efficiently manage their resources as well as reduce costs.

Features of the new facility include 2N modular design for easy capacity expansion, customer workspace and build rooms and high capacity, carrier-neutral Internet connectivity through multiple Tier 1 providers. The data center will also feature on-site NOCs which will be staffed 24/7/365, offering facilities and network monitoring as well as security, technical and remote support. Multi-tenant infrastructures like cloud, EMC and NetApp SAN/NAS and F5 GTM/LTM platforms will also be accessible, along with Cisco and Juniper network and security platforms.

Windstream's Hosted Solutions suite offers public, private and hybrid cloud products to customers throughout the U.S. When combined with the company's advanced network and technology products, like VoIP, SIP trunking, MPLS and high-speed Internet, the service provider is able to offer a full set of integrated services.

The company has SSAE 16 compliant data centers positioned throughout the U.S., with new centers in Nashville, Tenn., and Durham, N.C., also scheduled to open this year.
