Milwaukee-based ManpowerGroup, a $22 billion company specializing in temporary and permanent recruitment, outsourcing, career management and HR consulting, has been recognized by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council for the fifth consecutive time as one of America’s Top Corporations. It was highlighted for this prestigious recognition for having best innovative practices that create partnerships with female entrepreneurs.
WBENC, The Women's Business Enterprise National Council, is a non-profit organization as well as the nation's largest third-party certifier of businesses operated and owned by women. It is only about 12 years old, but has over 11,000 WBENC Certified WBEs. Over 1,000 corporations that represent America's biggest brands accept WBENC certification long with American states, cities and other entities. WBENC with its 14 regional partner organizations tries to provide interacting opportunities to over 550 member corporations and 1,000’s of certified WBEs and government agencies at several forums.
The award honors corporations that provide opportunities to Women’s Business Enterprises and enables them to compete with other corporate businesses. 32 corporations have received the award and ManpowerGroup received it for the fifth consecutive time. The award presentation ceremony will be held at the WBENC Summit & Salute to Women's Business Enterprises’ in Baltimore from March 13-14, 2013.
Jorge Perez, senior vice president, Manpower North America, said that women business leaders not only have a great impact on U.S. businesses but they are also indispensable in helping to move the economy forward. He added that ManpowerGroup plays an active role in cultivating and grooming the leadership skills of women and diverse business owners so as to enhance equal access to opportunities.
Further, Kip Wright, senior vice president of ManpowerGroup Solutions, added that one of the tenets of Manpower Group’s TAPFIN managed service provider (MSP) offering is to help promote diversity from a supplier perspective. He emphasized that diversity not only helps improves the quality of the services that the company provides, but it also accurately reflects the mix of resources in the market.
