One Source Networks Confirms Acquisition of Austin-based OuterNet

By Shankar Pandiath

One Source Networks, a provider of managed data, voice, and cloud services and a preferred network partner for large enterprises, recently confirmed the closing of its acquisition of Austin-based OuterNet. The latter is a cloud managed solutions provider.

It is anticipated that the integration of these two companies will provide One Source Networks (OSN) and its large customer base with a comprehensive set of managed solutions, which includes professional and infrastructure services expertise, managed storage and hosting, with certification in key products and technologies like Dell servers and enterprise storage, CommVault data management and VMware virtualization.

This cloud-based transaction will include the 10,000 square foot data center of OuterNet in Austin, Texas, which will be the hub of high-end customer equipment as well as the infrastructure for unified communications and cloud computing offerings. This OuterNet center successfully complements the colocation footprint of One Source Networks, which has more than 300 data centers across the world.

Talking about this acquisition, Ernest Cunningham, the chief executive officer of One Source Networks (OSN), said that the acquisition was remarkably exciting for OSN and its wide customer base. The combined strengths of both the companies will initiate the creation of an innovative managed network solution organization that will deliver unique and relevant products to the enterprise market.

Customers will now have access to advanced data management and disaster and protection recovery capabilities that leverage groundbreaking technologies. These will include CommVault Simpana backup and host-based replication, Dell EqualLogic array-based replication, and VMware virtualization all hosted out of OuterNet’s Austin based data center. At the same time, the company will also expand its hardware support capabilities with additional options for design, deployment, and maintenance for WAN and LAN hardware like HP, Dell, Cisco, Juniper, and Adtran.

Besides benefitting from the expanded service portfolio offered by OSN and OuterNet venture, the customers will also share the advantages of integrated 24/7 onsite Network Operations Center (NOC) all allowing more premium-quality, efficient solutions delivery in a speedier way.

While Q Advisors LLC, an investment banking boutique, acted as the exclusive financial advisor of One Source Networks, Tolarus Capital Advisors LLC, an Austin-based investment banking firm, served as the financial advisor of OuterNet.

A global provider of purpose built and innovative communications solutions, One Source Networks offers access to cloud-based video, voice, computing and security applications.
