HfS Research Names Unisys to Winner's Circle

By Michael Guta

Taking into account the threat landscape in today's digital ecosystem, security underpins the alignment of all operations. If the proper security protocol is not in place, it will eventually affect the internal and external operations of an organization, which underscores the importance of having a managed security service provider capable of understanding the risks and challenges each industry faces. In placing Unisys in its Winner's Circle, HfS Research said the company was able to show competitive differentiation and collaborative relationships with its customers as it applies to its security offerings.

The HfS Blueprint Report: Managed Security Services 2017 looked at 13 major service providers with a comparative analysis of innovation and execution capabilities. As managed security service provider, Unisys was said to have “realized the as-a-service economy of business outcome-oriented, on-demand talent and technology services,” in addition to its ability to articulate its vision and a new way of thinking.

“Unisys' vision for security as a business strength in a borderless world helps the company differentiate at a thought leadership level. Its investments in industry expertise further bolster that business perspective, which HfS believes is needed as security becomes intertwined with all processes in order to improve the customer's experience,” said Christine Ferrusi Ross, research vice president, security and blockchain, HfS Research.

The approaches Unisys has taken to security and client services were highlighted by HfS Research, stating the company was able to tie security into future enterprise growth with a strong business-led practice and a distinct perspective. These strengths include mission and purpose beyond asset protection, talent acquisition, vertical industry focus and innovative and advanced security analytics.

Unisys provides governments, financial services and commercial markets with industry-focused solutions integrated with leading-edge security using advanced data analytics, cloud and infrastructure services, application services and application and server software for comprehensive global protection solutions.

“We have a longstanding commitment to excellence in managed security services (MSS). This 'Winners Circle' recognition highlights our ability to deliver MSS in a highly efficient and effective fashion for both governments and enterprises, in addition to providing proven security consulting, products, solutions, and services),” said Eric Hutto, senior vice president and president, Enterprise Solutions, at Unisys.

The protection Unisys provides delivers innovative physical and logical security for advanced threats in complex and mission-critical deployments with the necessary context to leverage the latest technology to defend enterprises. According to the company, the security it offers as a managed security service provider is able to reduce attack surfaces through micro segmentation; defend entire classes of assets, including endpoints, servers, data centers, and clouds cryptographically; simplify security policies; deliver micro-segmentation with software; and unify and extend security policy across the entire organization, including supply chains, mobile uses and public clouds.
