Comings & Goings: Myers to Lead ViaWest in Texas Region

By Michelle Nicolson

ViaWest, a colocation, managed services and cloud provider, announced the company has recently appointed Tom Myers as its regional vice president and general manager of Texas.

Myers, formerly of Level 3 Communications, will work to support and expand ViaWest’s Texas operation, which provides infrastructure-as-a-service solutions. ViaWest is a privately held data center and managed services providers with headquarters in Denver, Colo.

"Tom comes to ViaWest with an excellent track record of building and delivering solutions for enterprise and mid-market customers," says Christopher Rajiah, senior vice president of sales and marketing at ViaWest. "ViaWest serves many different verticals in Texas, including healthcare, financial services, technology and retail. Under Tom's leadership, we will continue to drive growth and innovation for our customers."

Myers brings hands-on experience with the type of Fortune 1000 companies that ViaWest wants to attract and retain as customers. Texas is a key market for the company, given the regional presence of industry leaders in the region. Typical ViaWest customers are looking for complex IT solutions that will meet compliance requirements as well as provide flexibility to meet growing and changing needs.

The company oversees enterprise-class data centers in Colorado, Utah, Oregon, Texas and Nevada. Its solutions include colocation, complex hosting, cloud and managed services for businesses, including premium wholesale and retail colocation as well as private and public clouds.

"ViaWest's top priority is to deliver a superior customer experience and a solution that moves our customers' businesses forward," Myers said. "I am thrilled to join an organization with the breadth of products and services to do just that. My team is made up of highly experienced professionals that know how to solve complex IT issues, and I look forward to building more success for our customers."

Myers most recently served as senior director for the large enterprise segment business at Level 3 Communications. He also spent more than six years driving enterprise sales for Verizon Business.
