MSP Amdocs Expands Relationship with Finnish Service Provider Elisa through 2018

By Laura Stotler

Amdocs and Elisa have extended their managed services relationship through 2018, the companies announced. Amdocs will manage the IT systems for Elisa, a Finnish provider of wireless, wireline, broadband and cable services, across multiple business lines through the deal.

The MSP will also expand its support of Elisa’s billing systems to cover additional legacy building as well as third-party mediation systems. Amdocs, which specializes in customer experience systems and services, will also provide applications development and managed operations and maintenance services.

"Outsourcing our entire billing operation to Amdocs and appointing Amdocs as the single point of contact for our multiple suppliers will allow Elisa to further reduce operational risk and focus its attention on growing new lines of business," said Timo Katajisto, chief technology officer at Elisa.

The companies first started doing business together in 2005. Amdocs has been in major growth mode over the last two months, acquiring the assets of Celcite Management Solutions LLC and buying out Actix, a provider of mobile network optimization solutions. The Actix acquisition, valued at $120 million, expands the Amdocs customer experience systems (CES) portfolio with geo-located network data to drive optimization use cases. Now the MSP can offer customer experience-driven network optimization, based on a holistic view of customer experiences across networks, BSS and OSS.

The Celcite acquisition, valued at $129 million, expands the CES portfolio as well by adding customer experience management across networks as well as IT. Enhancing the Actix deal, Celcite’s network management and self optimizing networks (SON) services have been integrated into Amdocs’ offerings to provide equipment-agnostic optimization solutions.
