New US Mobile Provider Aio Wireless Turns to Amdocs for Managed IT Services and Support

By Laura Stotler

New mobile services provider Aio Wireless has chosen Amdocs as its managed IT services provider. The company, which specializes in customer experience systems and services, will provide managed services to Aio to support the provider's goal of quickly rolling out nationwide mobile services.

Services will be provided by Amdocs Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS) in support of Amdocs business support systems (BSS). Amdocs will also provide support for Web portal and mobile applications, as well as third-party applications.

"Working with Amdocs as our strategic IT partner helped Aio get to market quickly with a new mobile offering that provides first-class services at affordable prices," said Jennifer Van Buskirk, president of Aio Wireless.

"The relationship between Aio and Amdocs will deliver a seamless experience for Aio's customers as well as operational cost efficiencies," said Anthony Goonetilleke, Amdocs regional vice president. "By working with Amdocs to design, build and manage most of its systems, Aio will benefit from the same proven, Tier 1 business and operational systems that support the world's largest communications companies."

Amdocs is dedicated to helping Aio achieve its goal of quickly rolling out services, with a focus on customers seeking an unlimited talk/text/data plan at an affordable price, without an annual contract. Managed services provided by Amdocs will aim to reduce Aio's operational costs so the provider may focus on reaching its market instead of system management. Specific services will include application development and management, data center hosting, infrastructure services and ongoing operations and business process operations, which will be provided through the Amdocs Consulting Division.

The Amdocs suite of business support systems will also be managed as part of the agreement, including billing, activation and customer management. Amdocs will also be responsible for managing a number of third-party applications as well.
