SkyOffice Suite from SherWeb Helps Customers Battle Flurry of Microsoft Updates

By Laura Stotler

Microsoft had a massive number of announcements in 2012, updating almost all the software in its portfolio. Highlights include Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, Office 2013, Windows Server 2012, Exchange 2013, SharePoint 2013, Lync 2013, System Center 2013 and SQL Server 2013. While these updates bring some much needed new features and functionality to the table, they can also create major headaches for system administrators trying to stay on top of everything.

One of the most used business applications is of course Office 365, which brings all the functionality of Office to the cloud. But once again, this offering can be constricting for business users, who may not want or need certain features and may be looking for a more customized and flexible solution.

In 2012, SherWeb rolled out their SkyOffice suite, which goes beyond Office 365 to give users the customization and flexibility they are seeking. The SkyOffice hosted e-mail and collaboration solution comes with hosted Exchange, Lync and SharePoint, and is available in three configurations including standard, professional and business.

One of the main benefits of SherWeb's solution is its flexibility, enabling customers to combine multiple SkyOffice plans so they may get the exact features they are seeking without paying for ones they don't need. The company also offers its MIDAS migration system, enabling a smooth and easy migration of e-mail data to a hosted environment. This guarantees a smooth transition to SkyOffice from other legacy platforms, including Microsoft Office.

In addition to high-level, 24/7 customer support, SherWeb also offers mobile support for BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BEP), ActiveSync for iPhone, iPad and Android synchronization and support for the Outlook Web App. Security services include online backup and recovery, remote wipe of BlackBerry devices in case of loss or theft, e-mail archiving, enterprise-grade service level agreements and SAS 70 Type II compliance. Other features include an online billing portal and an online service management portal.

For those Office 365 users who are looking for the functionality of traditional offerings without the cost and customer service constraints typically associated with them, SherWeb's SkyOffice suite provides a viable and flexible alternative.
