ICYMI: Recent Developments in the MSP Industry

By Greg Tavarez

Malicious actors are relentless. The rise of their threats, coupled with the growing complexity of IT environments, has made it imperative for businesses to adopt comprehensive security solutions.

To address these challenges, cybersecurity vendors have been investing heavily in research and development to introduce innovative products and services.

GTT Communications launched GTT Envision, a platform designed to simplify the management and orchestration of enterprise networks. ManageEngine made an upgrade to its IT analytics platform, Analytics Plus. US Signal launched its breakthrough Infrastructure-as-a-Service product: OpenCloud.

In other recent developments, several major players in the cybersecurity industry have announced updates to their offerings. Let’s take a look.

1Password's Extended Access Management Gains Traction

1Password's Extended Access Management has gained traction in the market. The company has seen growth in customer spending and has introduced new features to enhance its capabilities. The number of customers spending over $100k annually has increased by over 50% year-over-year.

1Password has also added integrations with Microsoft Entra and Google Workspace to improve security and management for organizations using these platforms. Other new features include updates to managing and detecting shadow IT and simplified login management.

1Password's XAM is designed to address the "access-trust gap" by providing a comprehensive solution to secure all sign-ins, regardless of device or application.

CrowdStrike Updates Falcon Platform

CrowdStrike announced a new set of innovations to its Falcon cybersecurity platform that aim to simplify security and IT operations. A key part of the update is Project Kestrel, a new user experience that provides a unified view of an organization's security environment. This will allow for better collaboration between security teams and faster threat response.

Another part of the update is CrowdStrike Signal, a new family of AI-powered engines that prioritizes security alerts and helps analysts identify threats. It also includes new features for legacy OS support, cloud security, identity protection, and security information and event management.

Rubrik and Pure Storage Offer Complete Cyber Resilience

Rubrik and Pure Storage partnered to create a cyber resilience solution for organizations facing data growth challenges and increasing cyber threats. Their joint solution, Rubrik Security Cloud, offers three layers of protection: rapid recovery, data security, and archival storage.

The first layer, rapid recovery, uses Pure Storage's immutable snapshots for quick recovery from cyberattacks. The second layer, data security, is provided by Rubrik Security Cloud, which offers features like anomaly detection, threat monitoring and sensitive data monitoring. The third layer, archival storage, is supported by Pure Storage's FlashBlade products to provide scalable and cost-effective storage for long-term data retention.

Veeam and Palo Alto Networks Boost Data Resilience

Veeam Software has partnered with Palo Alto Networks to enhance data resilience and security operations. This integration will simplify security processes and proactively respond to cyber threats by combining Veeam's data backup capabilities with Palo Alto Networks' security solutions. Veeam is the first Palo Alto Networks partner to develop a data collector, dashboards and reports for Cortex XSIAM.
