MTS Deploys ARRIS Ad Insertion Solution

By Rory Lidstone

ARRIS Group, a provider of communications and entertainment solutions, has been selected by Canadian telecommunications provider MTS to handle advertising insertion in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In fact, MTS has already installed and engaged the ARRIS as insertion solution successfully. The solution is part of the ARRIS Media Services Platform (MSP) and uses a fully integrated, Mediaroom-compliant solution to seamlessly insert localized information into a television stream without adding signal interruptions or time delays.

Back in October, ARRIS teamed up with SeaWell Networks to create an integrated advertising solution for multiscreen video that also leveraged ARRIS’ ad insertion platform.

"We are pleased to provide MTS customers with more relevant advertising," said Stan Kurtas, vice president of Marketing at MTS, in a statement. "Thanks to our relationship with ARRIS, MTS is the first in Canada to seamlessly insert local ads on a Mediaroom television platform."

ARRIS MSP is able to power advanced advertising while integrating with ad storage, streaming, insertion and splicing into a single device. The platform also promises top performance in the areas of delivery, management and monetization.

In particular, MSP offers delivery of high-quality content to any device, at any time and any place, with multi-format streaming support. On the management level, it is able to maintain high uptime while driving customer satisfaction by way of advanced monitoring and troubleshooting technology. In terms of monetization, MSP deploys and integrates interoperable solutions for On Demand and advanced advertising services.

"Today's consumers continue to crave true multiscreen experiences and telco providers need to be able to support advertising for those experiences, on a variety of devices," said Neerav Shah, vice president and general manager of Multiscreen Video Infrastructure and Cloud Business Solutions at ARRIS. "ARRIS ad-insertion solutions solve those needs, providing an experience that is not only seamless, but screen-specific, and personalized."
