Industry Veteran David Powell Joins Liongard to Drive Next Phase of Growth

By Greg Tavarez

MSPs and IT service providers juggle a lot of plates these days. Keeping up with the always-changing technology landscape is a constant uphill battle. New devices, cloud services, and software pop up every day, which makes it tough to maintain a clear picture of a client's entire IT environment. This complexity makes it incredibly difficult to identify and address security vulnerabilities before they become major problems.

Then, there's the constant threat of cyberattacks. Ransomware, phishing and other threats are more sophisticated and frequent. Staying ahead of these threats requires specialized expertise and around-the-clock monitoring. Many MSPs simply don't have the resources to dedicate to this level of security, which leaves them and their clients vulnerable.

Enter Liongard.

Liongard is a pioneering force in the realm of cybersecurity for MSPs and IT service providers. As an attack surface management platform specifically designed for this market, Liongard equips businesses with the necessary tools to proactively identify and mitigate potential cyber threats.

Liongard continuously monitors and analyzes an organization's entire IT ecosystem, including endpoints, cloud environments and network infrastructure to provide MSPs with critical insights into their clients' security posture. This visibility enables proactive threat detection, rapid response to security incidents and a reduction in cyber risk for MSPs and their clients.

Liongard also offers a unified view of an organization's entire attack surface to allow MSPs to grasp a better understanding of their clients' security vulnerabilities and implement targeted remediation strategies. With Liongard, MSPs enhance their security offerings, improve client satisfaction and strengthen their competitive edge.

At this point, all can see why over 70,000 end customers’ attack surfaces are protected by Liongard. And now, Liongard has its sights to drive its growth. To do that, Liongard recently appointed David Powell as Chief Revenue Officer.

Powell brings a wealth of experience to his new role as CRO at Liongard. He joins from Pax8, where he excelled in sales strategy. Prior to that, he held leadership positions at companies like Evo Security, ConnectWise and LogicMonitor. His track record demonstrates consistent success in driving growth and revenue for high-growth SaaS companies. Notably, he played a significant part in three successful exits and seven private equity-backed acquisitions.

“David’s track record of driving revenue growth and his deep understanding of the MSP community make him an outstanding addition to our leadership team,” said Michelle Accardi, CEO of Liongard. “David's passion for innovation and commitment to partner success align perfectly with Liongard’s mission to empower MSPs and IT service providers to deliver top-tier attack surface management.”

At Liongard, Powell will spearhead the company's global revenue strategy to focus on accelerating growth and maximizing partner success. Liongard will continue to innovate with solutions for automated asset discovery, misconfiguration detection and cyber insurance reporting. Powell's expertise in scaling high-growth companies will be invaluable in keeping the company at the forefront of the evolving market.

“I’ve seen firsthand the challenges MSPs and IT service providers face when it comes to managing complex IT environments and staying ahead of security threats,” said Powell. “Liongard’s platform is uniquely positioned to help MSPs enhance their security posture, streamline operations, and provide proactive oversight, which is more critical now than ever. I’m eager to work with the talented team at Liongard to accelerate our impact and deliver exceptional value to our partners.”

This move is huge for Liongard. Powell brings a wealth of experience in scaling high-growth SaaS companies to Liongard – over 28 years of experience in the IT and SaaS industries. In hindsight, this appointment positions Liongard to capitalize on the growing demand for cybersecurity solutions within the MSP market.
