How MSPs Can Benefit from Streamlining and Simplifying Their Workflows and Operations

As part of their digital transformation initiatives, enterprises are increasingly looking to streamline their business processes to simplify or eliminate inefficiencies in work-related tasks. Efficiency and productivity are the two most notable advantages organizations are looking for when they begin the journey to streamline their businesses, but they’re not the only benefits.

Streamlining can also offer better-time management, helping to identify and eliminate bottlenecks, thereby saving time and ensuring tasks are completed faster. Furthermore, streamlined processes increase transparency, resulting in reduced errors, elimination of redundant work, and improved accountability.

Finally, streamlining can help organizations with one of their highest priorities, saving money, by reducing overhead and improving cost-efficiency. According to market research firm IDC, companies lose between 20 percent and 30 percent of revenue every year due to inefficiencies.

Starting the journey to streamlining a business can be complex, however, as some MSPs may not know where to start. There are a variety of methods and innovative technologies a business can leverage to begin to slowly make their processes more efficient. For example, one of the most notable methods for streamlining is the adoption and implementation of business process automation (BPA) tools.

BPA uses technology to perform manual tasks, and though having been around for decades, has increased in uses thanks to the rise in popularity of cloud-based software, and the availability of mobile devices. Valued at $9.8 billion in 2020, the BPA market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 12.2 percent, reaching $19.6 billion by 2026.

“The growth of BPA is unsurprising,” said Scott Chasin, Chief Technology Officer of Pax8, which offers a marketplace for cloud-first applications, along with integration of PSA tools for the tens of thousands of MSPs they serve. “BPA tools offer a wide range of benefits for organizations looking to streamline how they get work done. Automating even one process can save several hours each day, which can reduce costs significantly.”

Some BPA tools help virtually eliminate human error from business processes. This also frees employees from their manual work, meaning they can focus on things like high-level strategy and innovation.

“A Pax8 PSA integration quickly streamlines operations and improves efficiency specifically associated with cloud,” Chasin said. “This can save significant money for MSPs. For example, on a single platform, our MSP members are saying goodbye to multiple usernames, passwords, and accounts, reducing daily tasks to a few clicks.”

“Using technology to streamline the acts of documentation and training within an enterprise can have a profound impact when beginning the streamlining and simplification journey,” Chasin explained. “By documenting all information that comes and goes, MSPs have a better understanding of the state of their business, allowing them to map out a more informed process for streamlining, down to the details. Additionally, with BPA, the software captures the daily workflow and day-to-day processes, providing real time insights into how productive the organization is.”

As the world continues to digitize, MSPs must begin to take the steps to streamline their business, to stay competitive and to improve their bottom lines. Innovative automation tools are now readily available for businesses to leverage to begin the process. The right platforms and applications can be the difference maker, making it possible to impact every aspect of an organization, from employee productivity, to process efficiency, all the way to cost savings.
