A new MSP partnership has been announced in the healthcare space. Advanced 365 has teamed up to help Apira with cloud computing and outsourcing. UK-based Apira is a healthcare information service consultancy that works with the NHS.
Advanced will be offering its experience in deploying targeted technologies designed to improve performance and reduce costs to assist Apira in helping the NHS make improvements. The NHS has been focused on an agenda to make improvements based on the Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention (QIPP) initiative.
The QIPP program is geared toward making quality improvements in NHS care along with realizing as much as $32 billion in efficiency savings by the 2014/15 timeframe. Apira has been working with the NHS on large-scale transformational outsource programs related to IT deployment and management, information governance, security and business intelligence and technical services.
"The savings that organizations can achieve by adopting cloud technologies are considerable and we can ensure compliance with government legislation designed to safe-guard patient data, such as ensuring data is stored in UK data centers," said Alan Brown, head of IT deployment and management, Apira.
Managed services in the healthcare space have been steadily gaining traction. Last week, clinical healthcare services provider Symphony Clinical Research announced they would use Bridgepoint's Managed Services. Remote help desk support along with IT maintenance and monitoring are being used to improve operational efficiencies and drive business growth.
"Outsourcing is another increasingly popular option for trusts that need to ensure their IT estates are expertly managed whilst simultaneously reducing spend," added Brown. "By working with Advanced, we can ensure that more organizations are able to benefit from outsourcing and cloud services and that IT managed services are tailored to their exact needs."
Advanced 365 specializes in outsourcing for everything from desktop to data center service delivery along with unified communications and cloud enablement. The MSP deploys and manages a variety of applications using .NET, Microsoft SQL Server, the Microsoft Office System and Microsoft CRM.
IT managed offerings include monitoring, backup, email and hosting. The company also offers unified communications services and business applications to improve information flow. These include Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Microsoft Business Intelligence. Application development services include support for existing legacy applications as well as new applications developed by the MSP.
"The partnership means that NHS trusts, which are working with Apira, will have access to the IT managed services provided by Advanced 365 and will be able to consider options such as outsourcing IT management and migrating software applications to the cloud," said Neil Cross, managing director, Advanced 365.
