Bridgepoint Technologies Provides Managed IT Services to Symphony Clinical Research

By Laura Stotler

A new managed services partnership has been announced on the healthcare front. Bridgepoint Technologies, which offers full service IT consulting, has teamed up with Symphony Clinical Research, a provider of both in-home and alternate-site clinical services.

Symphony will use Bridgepoint’s Managed Services to improve their operational efficiency as well as drive business growth as they serve patients in all phases of clinical trials. The managed services will include remote help desk support and a variety of IT maintenance and monitoring.

Bridgepoint will be handling on-site technical administration of Symphony’s IT infrastructure, including servers, desktops, network and business applications. The service provider is also a dedicated technology partner, handling the planning and deployment of a number of initiatives that will aid in Symphony’s remote employment as well as uptime and disaster recovery processes.

Providing disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS) is becoming increasingly popular, with Gartner estimating that more than 30 percent of midsize companies will adopt DR in the cloud by next year. Turning to a service provider for DR and other cloud-based services offers a host of benefits for a company like Symphony, including cost savings and time and productivity efficiencies.

“After an extensive vendor evaluation process, we chose BridgePoint Technologies for its ability to augment our IT expertise, optimize or budgeting process and operating margins via a fixed-cost service, and enable us to provide higher-value services to our customers more efficiently,” said Matt Spezzano, senior manager of systems for Symphony.

BridgePoint managed services aim to help Symphony support their international customer base through 24x7 availability. The services also comply with regulatory guidelines, internal processes and auditing parameters, while offering troubleshooting and support as needed.

In addition to managed helpdesk services, BridgePoint also provides virtual office capabilities, including remote desktop functionality, remote applications, file sharing and email. Managed hosting services, meanwhile, include website hosting and web application and dedicated server solutions.
