MSP Masergy Achieves Massive Growth and Expands to UCaaS Space

By Laura Stotler

Managed service provider (MSP) Masergy has been growing by leaps and bounds over the past year and is now working to strengthen its position as a cloud communications provider. The company offers customized solutions tailored to meet the needs of customers throughout the world.

Recent growth has been fueled by Masergy's acquisition of Broadcore, a managed unified-communications-as-a-service (UCaaS) provider. That move has helped Masergy to become an IT transformation force, helping its customers migrate and embrace cloud computing strategies.

The company offers an independent global network platform featuring cloud communications solutions, including cloud-based security and embedded unified communications. The company's Intelligent Internet Management (IIM) offering provides visibility and control solutions that include cloud-based security and application management. The Broadcore Connect offering is also available as a result of the Broadcore acquisition. The solution is aimed at medium-sized companies and features a variety of unified communications components.

Notable Masergy achievements during the past two years include a rise in revenues from 13.2 percent growth to 19.4 percent growth. The MSP also expanded its network presence in Latin America by adding new POPs in Mexico City, Miami and Sao Paulo. Masergy plans to add three to six new core data centers per year to continue on its growth path. Finally, the company has been expanding its Global Partner Program and has increased channel revenues by 20 percent year-over-year from an existing base of Platinum and Gold partners.

"Many network providers force companies to fit into a product 'box,'" said Chris MacFarland, CEO of Masergy. "But at Masergy we transform a company's IT infrastructure from complex and rigid to simple, agile and reliable. Over the past year we have accomplished multiple strategic initiatives focusing on expanding services, value and reach for our customers. Today our growing portfolio of network-embedded and cloud-based services helps companies do more with less so they can meet real business challenges such as globalization, IT cost containment, application experience and workplace evolution."
