Ingram Micro and AWS Sign New Partnership to Fuel Channel Partner Innovation

By Greg Tavarez

Happy Monday, readers.

To start the week, my fellow write/editor Alex Passett and I wrote a couple of articles that featured AWS. Passett wrote about Rubrik’s expansion of its cyber resilience capabilities for cloud data that runs on AWS, and I wrote about Atlassian and AWS announcing a SCA to help drive the migration of millions of enterprise users from Atlassian’s Data Center business to Atlassian Cloud over a multi-year timeline.

Now, we are in for a third article that will feature AWS.

Ingram Micro recently announced a multi-year SCA with AWS designed to drive more business to and through the global IT channel via Ingram Micro’s digital twin Xvantage.

Xvantage is a digital experience platform designed to streamline and enhance the way technology providers do business. It offers a single destination for partners to access products, solutions and services, as well as gain valuable insights and support.

Xvantage uses AI and machine learning to provide personalized recommendations, automate workflows and simplify complex processes. It helps partners focus on growth and innovation to drive business success.

Expanding on its successful global relationship with AWS and new integration whereby partners can now access AWS Marketplace through Ingram Micro Xvantage, the new SCA focuses on two key areas.

The first key area is to enhance and scale Ingram Micro’s professional services capabilities.

Ingram Micro uses its AWS Migration Competency to extend its cloud assessment and migration capabilities throughout the globe. Additionally, Ingram Micro is amplifying its Advisory and Optimization services, including the AWS Well-Architected Framework, to provide partners with expert guidance to optimize their AWS environments and improve operational efficiency.

The agreement also allows Ingram Micro’s services offerings to include GenAI, analytics, engineering and architecture by using AWS services such as Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Redshift and AWS Glue. These enhancements aim to drive advanced AI model development, data warehousing, and extract, transform and load processes.

The second focus area is to enable ISVs and channel partners to work with Ingram Micro and initiate a Channel Partner Private Offer, or CPPO, and extend the offer to the end customer using the combination of the AWS Marketplace and Ingram Micro Xvantage.

Ingram Micro will allow ISVs to list offerings at scale through channel partners. In addition, channel partners can build and list their offerings, including their own services offerings, into industry solutions. Ingram Micro will assist in creating AWS Marketplace listings to drive co-sell greenfield opportunities.

“AWS and Ingram Micro are successfully executing and expanding our relationship at a global level — helping our channel partners and their customers take advantage of all AWS has to offer," said Jeremiah Jenson, Global Leader, Channel Resell, AWS.

This expanded partnership solidifies Ingram Micro’s dedication to empowering its channel partners to help customers transition to and modernize their cloud infrastructure, especially on AWS. By providing tools, expertise, and support, Ingram Micro is simplifying complex processes and accelerating growth for partners of all sizes.

With a proven track record of success, as evidenced by partners like Lambert Labs and Cloud Assembly, Ingram Micro is a trusted ally in the AWS ecosystem, enabling partners to thrive in the global market.

“Ingram Micro and AWS are focused on accelerating the service capabilities of channel partners across the globe with AWS,” said Victor Baez, Senior Vice President, Global Vendor Engagement, Ingram Micro. “We’ve built a successful relationship with AWS over the years and are excited about our new agreement and the business opportunity and service enablement skills it brings to our channel partners.”

Through these strategic investments, Ingram Micro makes itself a rare AWS Distributor offering such services capabilities in the North America, Latin America, EMEA and APAC regions.
