CloudCasa by Catalogic Brings Data Protection to IONOS Cloud Platform Customers

By Greg Tavarez

Gartner estimates that, by 2025, nearly all of new digital workloads( 95%, to be exact) will be deployed on cloud-native platforms. That's up from 30% in 2021.

A huge reason why organizations are increasingly migrating to cloud-native environments involves the ability to enhance agility and accelerate innovation. By using cloud infrastructure, organizations rapidly scale resources to meet fluctuating demands, which reduces operational costs and improving efficiency.

Cloud-native architectures also create and develop a DevOps culture. This opens the door for faster development cycles, more frequent deployments and quicker time-to-market for new products and services.

Additionally, cloud-native environments offer what feels like a surplus of advanced technologies and services that can be easily integrated into applications. This includes serverless computing, containerization, microservices and machine learning capabilities.

All great. The question, though: Is that data within the cloud environment protected?

CloudCasa by Catalogic provides cloud-native backup, recovery and migration solutions. The solutions are designed to protect Kubernetes, cloud databases and cloud-native applications to ensure business continuity and compliance.

For example, the CloudCasa backup-as-a-service platform simplified data protection for the Kubernetes environment of the Tribunal Regional Eleitoral Court in Para, Brazil. The platform, according to a CloudCasa press release, ensured “off-site data protection, adherence to government regulations, enhanced administration and upgrades, all with a simple pricing model.”

Now, CloudCasa is set to help another company: IONOS.

IONOS is a European digitalization partner for SMBs. They serve over 6 million customers and have a presence in 18 markets across North America and Europe. Its web presence and productivity portfolio cater to all digitalization needs. They provide domains, web hosting, website builders with AI capabilities as well as eCommerce and online marketing tools. The company also offers cloud solutions for businesses looking to move their operations to the cloud as they expand and develop.

The CloudCasa and IONOS collaboration is expected to deliver enhanced Kubernetes data protection, migration and disaster recovery solutions for IONOS Cloud platform users. This means that the cloud platform users have their cloud-native applications safeguarded against data loss and cyber threats.

Key benefits include:

  • Enhanced data protection and disaster recovery: Advanced backup and recovery options tailored for Kubernetes environments to ensure that data is safe from accidental deletion, corruption and cyber threats.

  • Scalability and flexibility: Smooth integration with IONOS Cloud's infrastructure to allow users to scale their data protection as their business grows.

  • Migration/replication: Reliable data movement solutions that create smooth migration and replication processes. This enhances Kubernetes flexibility and continuity.

  • Simplified management: A user-friendly interface simplifies the management of backup and recovery tasks to reduce the administrative burden on IT teams.

  • Cost efficiency: Cost-effective solutions will optimize storage usage and reduce overall data protection costs.

“Our mission is to provide comprehensive and intuitive data protection solutions that address the unique needs of cloud-native environments,” said Ryan Kaw, Vice President of Sales for CloudCasa by Catalogic. “By joining forces with IONOS, we can offer their users unparalleled protection and peace of mind, knowing their critical data and applications are secure and recoverable.”

There is no doubt that CloudCasa and IONOS are on track to provide a much-needed solution to the critical issues of data protection, business continuity and cybersecurity for organizations adopting cloud-native technologies.
