VulnCheck Closes Funding Round at $7.95M to Power Up Next-Generation Vulnerability Management

By Greg Tavarez

Let’s talk about VulnCheck.

VulnCheck is an exploit intelligence company that helps enterprises, government organizations and cybersecurity vendors solve "the vulnerability prioritization challenge." VulnCheck helps those organizations outpace adversaries by providing comprehensive, real-time vulnerability intelligence that is autonomously correlated with unique, proprietary exploit and threat intelligence.

Over the last year, VulnCheck has made strides in helping users prioritize vulnerabilities. For example, they've introduced a new feature called IP Intelligence to track vulnerable devices and attacker infrastructure. They've also launched a free community tier with several resources. VulnCheck XDB offers a large repository of exploits, while the Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog provides advanced intel on actively exploited vulnerabilities.

This catalog is more comprehensive than similar offerings and provides earlier warnings about missing exploits. VulnCheck NVD++ is a tool that offers reliable access to vulnerability data (including historical data) and additional context to fill gaps in the official data.

VulnCheck also delivered hundreds of detection tools for new and unpatched vulnerabilities.

However, since launching, VulnCheck has seen a demand for its intelligence services skyrocket, according to Anthony Bettini, founder and CEO at VulnCheck. To accelerate its momentum amid this growing demand, VulnCheck recently closed its seed funding round at a total of $7.95 million, with $4.75 million in new funding.

The financing will accelerate growth and bolster product development for its offerings that empower enterprise platforms and workflows and meet the increased demand for the exploit intelligence needs of government teams and organizations protecting critical infrastructure.

“Advanced vulnerability management, threat intelligence and application security features are on the horizon, and VulnCheck is committed to continuing to help organizations prioritize threats in today’s rapidly evolving landscape,” said Bettini. “This funding is a testament to our momentum, and we are excited to further invest in developing our enterprise and critical infrastructure solutions.”

The latest investment includes participation from Sorenson Capital, a venture capital firm focused on investing in early and growth-stage B2B software companies in the cybersecurity, application layer, AI, data and infrastructure sectors.

“VulnCheck is redefining how security teams prioritize which vulnerabilities to address first by enriching data with a real-time assessment of exploit weaponization,” said Ken Elefant, Partner at Sorenson Capital. “We are excited to continue partnering with VulnCheck as they embark on the next chapter of their journey to revolutionize the way enterprises, critical infrastructure and government organizations manage vulnerabilities at scale.”
