MSP Expo Sponsor Ooma Expands Global Footprint to Asia Pacific Region

By Greg Tavarez

MSP Expo sponsor Ooma Inc. has gained recognition over the years for its innovative approach to home and business phone services. Ooma offers a range of features, including free domestic calling, voicemail, call forwarding and more, making it an attractive option for those looking to reduce their phone bills while maintaining reliable communication. Ooma’s business communication solutions include VoIP phone systems, virtual receptionists, and other features designed to enhance productivity and efficiency for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The company’s commitment to innovation and competitive pricing has helped it establish a strong presence in the VoIP market, and Ooma is looking for ways to expand its services.

Now, it’s done just that with an expansion into the Asia Pacific region in support of its customer, IWG plc, and its brands including Regus and Spaces.

Ooma recently enabled phone and unified communications services for IWG customers in Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong, as part of Ooma’s and IWG’s long-term plan to establish cloud UCaaS services around the globe and expects to add more countries in the region later in 2023.

IWG partners with Ooma to introduce two tailored phone plans exclusively for IWG customers. These offerings include the Business Phone plan, featuring pay-as-you-go calling without any recurring monthly charges, and the Business Phone Pro plan, which provides a comprehensive array of advanced features for an additional monthly fee. These phone services can be accessed via mobile and desktop apps or by acquiring or leasing desk phones.

IWG utilizes Ooma's services to power its unique Centralized Call Answering, or CCA, solution. CCA enables IWG patrons to have their calls answered by remote agents and routed as per the customers' specific instructions, replicating the experience of having a personal assistant managing their calls. Ooma equips IWG agents with the ability to identify incoming callers, efficiently route calls, employ advanced call queuing, handle distribution, provide a customized agent interface, and gather analytics to ensure a better customer interaction.

Ooma and IWG have also developed tools and procedures for onboarding and managing a substantial number of customers. Ooma's APIs seamlessly integrate with IWG systems, ensuring a smooth and cost-effective process for customer activation and support. The adaptability of Ooma's platform has enabled IWG to cater to diverse needs worldwide, optimize service management economically, and explore new revenue opportunities.

“We’ve been working with IWG since 2019 and in that time we’ve tapped every aspect of Ooma Business – small business phone service, enterprise unified communications, connectivity, and the customizability of our platform – to develop bespoke solutions for them,” said Eric Stang, Chief Executive Officer of Ooma. “We stand ready to deliver the same level of customization and scalability to all our customers in need of innovative communications services.”

Ooma now serves IWG customers in 25 countries across North America, Europe and Asia with brands including HQ, No 18, Regus, Signature and Spaces.

Ooma is a Platinum sponsor of MSP Expo, taking place in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, February 13-15, 2024. Part of the #TECHSUPERSHOW, MSP Expo is the premier event for MSPs, offering a three-day experience combining conference education, networking opportunities, an exhibit hall full of the latest technologies and solutions to help MSPs build their business, and more. Ooma will be in booth #539 in the exhibit hall.
