Identity and access management, or IAM, presents intricate challenges within enterprise workforces. Managing the diverse roles and permissions of employees (alongside contractors and third-party entities) demands attention.
The necessity for regular access reviews, particularly in large organizations, adds to the complexity, as does the management of privileged accounts and the enforcement of MFA across a myriad of systems. Additionally, Single Sign-On (SSO) implementation across a range of applications, the due considerations for a globally dispersed workforce, and the balancing act between user experience and security all contribute to the intricate nature of IAM for enterprises.
As organizations grow, scalability also becomes a concern, requiring IAM systems to adapt to accommodate new users, devices and applications while upholding performance and security standards. Enterprises need robust IAM solutions.
Enter ManageEngine and the launch of Identity360, its cloud-native identity management platform that addresses IAM complexities arising within enterprise workforces.
Identity360 is a cloud-native identity platform for workforce IAM that offers identity lifecycle management, SSO, MFA, access management and more. It is designed to streamline user identity management by integrating directories and applications, enforcing access controls across these integrated entities, and optimizing business processes.
Identity360 provides a centralized console to store and manage all workforce identities, use templates and orchestration to manage the entire lifecycle of your workforce, and effectively manage users’ roles and permissions.
"Organizations, regardless of their infrastructure and size, commonly encounter identity security and management challenges,” said Manikandan Thangaraj, Vice President of ManageEngine. “Identity360 can help them securely transition to the cloud and effectively manage identities and their access to applications, all while enforcing strong security controls."
ManageEngine also announced the addition of access certification and identity risk assessment functions to ADManager Plus, its on-premises identity governance and administration, or IGA, solution.
The identity risk assessment capability within ADManager Plus bolsters cybersecurity preparedness by proactively identifying potential risks and offering immediate corrective actions to mitigate them. Concurrently, access certification campaigns ensure that users are granted only the necessary permissions to fulfill their job roles. This aids organizations in implementing segregation of duties and the principle of least privilege, while serving as evidence of compliance with IT regulations.
"When it comes to Active Directory, cyberattacks are primarily caused by issues related to security misconfigurations and privilege abuse,” said Thangaraj. “Implementing strong measures such as risk assessments and access certification campaigns can enhance the security of Active Directory, streamline audit processes and ensure compliance.”
These two functions enhance the compliance posture of enterprises and help them mitigate security risks.
