Telesystem Announces Abacus Acquisition

Telesystem Announces Abacus Acquisition

By Maurice Nagle

As temperatures continue to plummet in the nation’s Northeast, the sizzling status of the cloud space surges on. The pandemic compelled organizations large and small to cloud, and the market reflects this as service providers position to compete long term.

Telesystem announced the acquisition of Abacus Group, a Boston-based nationwide UCaaS and managed services provider.

“We look forward to continuing the same premium service that Abacus’ customers have experienced and appreciated over the years, while giving those customers access to a much broader product portfolio,” said Telesystem President and Chief Executive Officer John Martin.

Abacus customers benefit on two fronts with the purchase: Telesystem support is second-to-none in the industry with an aggregate NPS score of 62 in 2021, and access to a product portfolio equipped to address the demand for complex managed solutions.

“We had quite a few options on the table when it came to selling our company, and the decision came down to finding the right buyer that we knew would care for our customers the same way we do,” said Mary Mulloy, CEO of Abacus Group, Inc.

The addition solidifies Telesystems’ market stature, and leaves Abacus customers in more than capable hands. Service providers play the role of lifeline for businesses in the WFH world, with communications central to a firm’s success.
