Time Warner Cable Business Class (TWCBC) is adding to its managed services portfolio with the launch of a turnkey, managed solution for the provisioning, configuration, change management, monitoring and remote operations of a customer’s Internet and wide area network services.
The appropriately named Managed Router Services (MRS) is being offered in partnership with Cisco, and is aimed at businesses with complex LAN and WAN landscapes, like multi-site organizations.
“The growing complexity of data networks, combined with the proliferation of Internet security threats, has required businesses to spend increasing amounts of time managing their networks,” said Greg King, senior vice president and chief product and strategy officer for Time Warner Cable Business Class. “Leveraging TWCBC’s expertise in managing networks, the MRS offering enables business to combine our robust portfolio of connectivity services with a fully managed router to buy a bundled managed network solution from a trusted provider.”
As its core functionality, the Managed Router Services offering includes TWCBC-provided routers at the customer premise, and then the subsequent configuration, management and 24/7 monitoring of the router by TWCBC. A customer portal then allows enterprises to view performance data for their services and request service changes. Users can choose from multiple router size options to meet specific customer bandwidth needs, including High Availability (HA) options for mission-critical environments.
The service can be bundled with Ethernet or other Internet connectivity. And, there are also value-added options like cybersecurity (firewall, IPS/IDS, remote VPN, NAT/PAT and so on), and WAN connection management (including QoS tagging, VLAN management, bandwidth profile management and so on).
