Intronis Announces Backup Monitoring Integration with Continuum

By David Delony

Intronis, a provider of cloud backup solutions, has announced that it is integrating with Continuum, a provider of managed services solutions. As a result of this partnership, customers will be able to track their backups on Continuum’s Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) platform.

“By integrating Intronis and Continuum, we are making it easier and more profitable for our mutual channel partners to deliver backup and recovery solutions as part of their managed IT services,” Chuck DeLouis, vice president of product management at Intronis, said in a statement. “In 2014, Intronis channel partners can expect continued advancements in our technical integrations, as well as more emphasis on collaborative marketing resources that will help them differentiate, manage and grow their IT services business.”

Backups are the linchpin of any comprehensive IT plan. Without them, a business really has nothing after a disaster. This makes offsite backups imperative, ensuring that a company’s eggs are not all in one basket, as it were. Offsite backups ensure business continuity after a disaster bad enough to destroy a company’s main data center.

With this integration, customers can now configure their backups using a Web-based API. They can also see how their backups are proceeding via Continuum’s IT Support Portal and will be provided Intronis-specific information in the RMM platform. The integration also includes automated ticketing.

“Providing complete monitoring and management of backup and recovery is an essential part of any managed services solution set and the integration between Continuum and Intronis is the latest example of how we’re enabling increased efficiency for our partners,” said Dee Zepf, vice president of product management and technical services at Continuum.

Both companies’ customers seem happy with the announcement.

“Intronis and Continuum are two of the industry’s best channel vendors and this integration certainly makes it a lot easier for our technicians to deploy and manage our cloud backup services remotely,” said C.J. Ezell, founder of A-Safe Managed Services. “The automated ticketing and integrated Intronis dashboard are service-minded, time-saving features that will help us deliver an even better customer experience.”
