ConnectWise Announces Cloud Enhancements to PSA Platform for MSPs

By Laura Stotler

Cloud-based professional services automation (PSA) provider ConnectWise has announced several enhancements to its platform, geared toward managed service providers (MSPs), VARs and ISVs. New features center on the cloud and include improved infrastructure as well as better speed and reliability.

Automation is one of the key things MSPs can undertake to strengthen their position and become more competitive. Too often, service providers focus on passing along cost savings and efficiencies to their customers while overlooking ways they may simplify their own core business.

Global Industry Analysts (GIA) forecasts the PSA software market will reach $7.63 billion by 2017, largely concentrated on automating and integrating business functions associated with service delivery. PSA offerings can also help MSPs allocate their resources more efficiently, particularly as they migrate to the cloud computing model in increasing numbers.

ConnectWise understands the importance of the cloud for MSPs and other service provisioners, and has focused its platform enhancements on cloud features. Improvements include custom reporting capability, enabling partners to query a database at any time to hone in on the exact information they require to drive business growth. A multi-versioning feature lets users operate an older release of the Connectwise software until they are ready to upgrade.

Additional enhancements include multi-region presence comprised of worldwide data centers providing cost effective, low-latency network connectivity and services. ConnectWise also offers “four-nines” uptime so that partners may access the cloud 24/7 to conduct real-time business operations, and provides cloud expertise through its specialists, who offer extensive knowledge and troubleshooting of cloud services.

"With the new upgrades to the cloud, we are not only delivering even more capabilities to technology businesses, but also demonstrating our dedication to providing best-in-class cloud-based software that is stable, reliable and innovative," said Arnie Bellini, ConnectWise CEO.

Last month, the company teamed up with OpenDNS to integrate security management services geared toward MSPs and other providers with its cloud platform. The OpenDNS Umbrella for MSPs service lets users centrally manage and deliver Umbrella security services and web filtering for their customers.
