Dimension Data Announces New Suite of SaaS Solutions

By Laura Stotler

Combining its experience in software-as-a-service (SaaS) hosting, cloud infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and systems integration, Dimension Data has rolled out a new suite of SaaS solutions. The offerings are geared toward providing scalable and cost effective hosting and application management services for ISVs.

SaaS Solutions from Dimension Data aim to simplify cloud hosting as well as management of operations, enabling vendors and service providers to focus on delivering new solutions and their core business initiatives. The suite of offerings is also geared toward improving SaaS application uptime, reducing costs and ensuring enterprise-class security.

"By adopting SaaS, we have completely changed our operations model and expanded our business opportunities dramatically," said Michael Rosinski, president and CEO of Astoria Software. "I fully count on Dimension Data to provide an application infrastructure and service response that is much more robust than my customers would otherwise have in a traditional software model."

Astoria offers an end-to-end content management system featuring authoring, content management and rendering of systems. The company has used SaaS Solutions from Dimension to transform its entire business model from licensed software to an integrated, on-demand solution. This has resulted in faster time to revenue for Astoria as well as an increased return on investment. The solution implementation cycle was also reduced from 12 months to 90 days while the sales cycle time was lowered from 18 months to six months.

"With analysts estimating the worldwide SaaS market in 2015 at more than $20 billion, software vendors will continue to transition their applications to SaaS to remain competitive,” said Steve Nola, cloud solutions CEO at Dimension Data. “We have helped transition hundreds of software vendors to SaaS and, by leveraging our secure and reliable cloud infrastructure, in addition to our deep experience in SaaS hosting and global systems integration, we can offer a full lifecycle of IT solutions for SaaS providers."

Accept Software is also using SaaS Solutions from Dimension and was able to reduce its cost of goods sold by 40 percent. The company, a collaborative product planning SaaS provider, was able to pass along costs savings to its customers by taking advantage of a pay-for-use pricing model instead of a costly perpetual license.

SaaS Solutions from Dimension Data include managed hosting; public and private cloud IaaS (CaaS); application operations including management services for custom SaaS and web applications; and technical operations.
