Azzurri Helps Biffa Clean Up its Communications

By Robbie Pleasant

No matter what industry you are in, communication is key. Even waste management companies need a good way to communicate. Biffa Waste Services Ltd knows this, and recently turned to Azzurri Communications to consolidate all of its communications services together.

This three-year contract will have Azzurri provide a single fully managed service for Biffa, providing the company with a reduced TCO and improved performance. It’s focusing on five main areas, ensuring each one receives the attention and focus it needs.

Azzurri’s Intelligent Cloud Optimized Network (ICON) platform will provision a resilient network for all of Biffa’s sites in the U.K. This will create the infrastructure for implementing the UC environment, while the Wide Area Network will also provide network monitoring tools. Biffa uses a hosted Avaya solution, integrated with Azzurri Innovations’ Callmedia multichannel application, for its contact center, connecting agents with customers across multiple channels.

Buffa itself will constantly receive support services, thanks to its Service Level Agreement. Azzurri’s Network Operations Centers and engineering team are at its disposal, providing services across all areas.

Azzurri’s network will help it manage around 4,500 mobile devices, providing powerful mobility and letting Biffa provide a constantly high-quality experience no matter what device is being used. Furthermore, it’s adding 2,500 SIP endpoints to a centrally hosted Avaya solution, while refreshing the Cisco IP handsets Biffa is already using.

“More and more customers are recognizing the business benefits and cost efficiencies that a well-planned UC implementation can deliver,” says Vim Vithaldas, CEO of Azzurri Communications. “Very few firms have the expertise and skill to roll out such a ground-breaking project, so we’re delighted to have won the contract and we look forward to helping Biffa achieve their corporate goals.”

Waste management is a vital service to society, so it’s important that it is as efficient as possible. The best way to do that is with the best communication tools available, and Azzurri is providing that. This is a big project for Biffa and Azzurri alike, but it’s a great move to make.
