Commtouch Unveils E-Mail SaaS Product for Channel Partners

By Jacqueline Lee

To better enable its channel partners to market its Security-as-a-Service (SecaaS) solutions, Commtouch has developed and launched its E-mail Security Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product.

With E-mail Security SaaS, IT staff members get streamlined resource allocation, strong Quality-of-Service (QoS) and detection of e-mailed threats. For end users, the new product offers access that is easy to implement. Small organizations can have what Commtouch calls “world-class” security without having to hire sophisticated security teams.

Commtouch, in a statement, claims that its e-mail detection software has nearly a zero percent false positive rate. E-mails are filtered in the cloud for malware and spam, which both protects clients and takes the burden off of clients’ internal resource usage.

Specifically, Commtouch hopes to provide its channel partners with a product that can be rapidly deployed with almost any existing e-mail infrastructure. The product should also adapt to practically any channel partner’s selling model.

“Commtouch E-mail Security SaaS dramatically increases market and revenue opportunities for our OEM and service provider partners by allowing them fast, easy access to the Security-as-a-Service market, [which is] one of the fastest-growing market segments in information security,” stated Commtouch CEO Shlomi Yanai. “It gives our partners a unique opportunity to offer their customers maximum protection from email-based threats without any implementation effort. “

SecaaS gives businesses the chance to use either a completely virtualized or hybrid solution to scan and screen incoming e-mails. These cloud-based security capabilities help companies to be more efficient, effective and cost-effective when dealing with highly distributed (aka mobile) communications, content and applications.

Instead of depending completely on on-premise infrastructure, companies can outsource their e-mail security to other companies, such as Commtouch partners. Partners can offer the e-mail security product as an addition to their managed services packages.
