MDSL and BT to Partner on New Telecom Expense Management Deal

By Jody Ray Bennett

MDSL, a company specializing in Telecom Expense Management (TEM) and Market Data Management (MDM), today announced a TEM service agreement with BT, a provider of communications services.

As part of the agreement, MDSL’s catalogue of mobile TEM products and services will be included in BT’s global portfolio of managed mobility expense services, for both their public and private sector customers.

CEO of MDSL, Ben Mendoza, explained that they are very pleased to be working with BT in this way, given the new opportunities and markets this will introduce to both parties, and that MDSL is well-placed to capitalize on these opportunities and markets. Mendoza went on to say that while this agreement spoke to a growing demand for global mobile TEM solutions, it also spoke to the quality of MDSL’s solutions and the value-added service BT Global Services expect MDSL to deliver to their customer base.

Head of Global Mobility Capability at BT Global Services, Jonathan Brasnett, also commented that the specific addition of MDSL’s TEM to their BT Managed Mobility Expenses portfolio enabled them to provide their customers with additional flexibility of service, to suit each customer’s individual needs. He added that controlled management of mobile expenditure is crucial for their customers at the moment, given the prevalence of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) practices and the potential growth in data usage and the associated costs that this creates.

Serving customers across the world in over 170 countries, BT is a market leader in global communications services and solutions. It provides a wide variety of products and services to its customers, including: networked IT services; local, national and international telecommunications services wherever you are; broadband and Internet products and services and converged fixed/mobile products and services.

BT mainly consists of BT Global Services, BT Retail, BT Wholesale and Openreach and in the year ended 31 March 2012, BT Group's total revenue was £18,897,000,000, with pre-tax profits of £2,445,000,000.
