Pax8's John Street is named 2022 CEO of the Year in Colorado

Pax8 continues to receive accolades as one of the fastest-growing global cloud marketplaces for MSPs and the vendors who serve them. This month, its CEO and co-founder John Street was named 2022 CEO of the Year by ColoradoBiz Magazine. The honor recognizes Street’s excellence in business and people leadership, company performance, and civic engagement.

“I am deeply honored to be recognized for this prestigious award, given the caliber of leadership in companies across the state,” Street said. “My success as CEO is only as good as our amazing leadership team and every employee I get to work with daily. A special thanks to everyone at Pax8 for their hard work to fuel our growth and success as we work to become the world’s favorite cloud marketplace.”

Street has built four start-ups in Colorado – Telephone Express, USA.Net, MX Logic and, starting in 2012, Pax8 – all of which garnered Inc. 5000 status. In 2022, Pax8 earned its place on the Inc. 5000 list for the fifth consecutive year and was named on the Denver Business Journal’s Fast 50 list for the fourth year in a row. Most recently, the tech company landed on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 list claiming the 131st spot.

Last month, Pax8 announced it had surpassed $1 billion in annual recurring revenue (ARR). The company celebrated the milestone with a takeover of The NASDAQ MarketSite’s massive digital billboard at the base of 4 Times Square in New York. The ARR milestone comes seven months after Pax8 raised $185 million at a $1.7 billion valuation.

Street’s vision of Pax8 becoming the world’s favorite cloud commerce marketplace where IT professionals buy cloud products and services centers on the company’s award-winning technology and standout company culture. Despite the pandemic, the start-up has grown from 550 employees in 2020 to 1,400 in 2022, with a global expansion into EMEA and APAC regions and acquisitions of WireHive, Sea-Level Operations, Resello, TGV, and Umbrellar.

Today, Pax8 partners with 25,000 managed service providers and 85+ vendors who serve more than 400,000 SMBs across the world. The company’s upcoming inaugural global partner conference, Beyond 2023, in the spring is expected to draw more than 1,000 service providers, vendors, media, and others for education and enablement, training, networking, and a preview into the future of the Pax8 Marketplace.

As CEO of the Year, Street was recognized for his legacy and passion as an award-winning entrepreneur and CEO for building disruptive technology that helps businesses grow and thrive. Highly skilled at turning around failing companies and building innovative ones, Street is a visionary and institutes a human-centric approach to building extraordinary work cultures where employees and teams can learn, grow, and have fun.
