AVG and Centrify Partner on Cloud-Based IDaaS Offering for MSPs

By Laura Stotler

Centrify Corporation and AVG Technologies have teamed up on a new Identity-as-a-Service (IDaaS) offering for MSPs. Centrify’s identity management technology is being used to power the new AVG CloudCare SSO IDaaS solution, enabling MSPs to secure and manage their customers’ mobile devices as well as offer one-click access to cloud applications.

The AVG CloudCare platform offers simple administration of a variety of IT security services like RMM for apps, cloud apps, servers and mobile devices. It also enables management of antivirus, content filtering, email security and online backup solutions. Inclusion of the Centrify User Suite lets MSPs provide enterprise user identity management for both SaaS and mobile apps as well as cloud-based mobility management. This facilitates adoption of SaaS apps for enterprise customers as well as helping them handle BYOD while boosting employee productivity overall.

"As businesses of all sizes embrace cloud applications and mobility initiatives, it's critical we enable MSPs to address these organizations' employee security and lifecycle challenges related to user, device and application on-boarding, and when employees leave a company," said Mike Foreman, general manager for SMB of AVG. "Centrify enables AVG to provide a turnkey solution that simply and securely maximizes mobile and SaaS productivity with seamless access to our entire suite of AVG services—along with a rich catalog of more than 2,500 SaaS apps—for customers that have heterogeneous IT environments."

Features of the new integrated offering include a secure cloud gateway providing SSO and multi-factor authentication for every SaaS app. MSPs can then easily help their customers deploy, provision and manage a variety of SaaS offerings like Office365 and Google Apps. Management is enabled using customers’ existing Active Directory infrastructure, and service providers may also white label services and market them as identity, application and mobile management solutions.

"As businesses increasingly shift to cloud and mobile environments, traditional access management and security measures no longer apply, and enterprise identity is rapidly becoming the best new security," said Shreyas Sadalgi, senior vice president of business development for Centrify. "Our partnership with AVG validates Centrify's holistic approach to IDaaS with integrated EMM as a powerful and differentiated offering for today's diverse technology business landscape.”
