CA Technologies Announces New and Updated IAM Mobility, API Solutions

By Laura Stotler

CA Technologies has updated several of its identity-based solutions and announced new mobility and API offerings. The company is striving to secure enterprise cloud, Web and mobile applications from the device to the cloud as well as accelerate mobile app development and improve application performance.

CA’s identity and access management (IAM) solutions provide security all the way from the client to the backend. Offerings are designed to ensure users and devices have the correct access to the proper data within the enterprise, whether they are employees, customers, or developers.

The company’s updated CA Layer 7 API Portal provides a branded online interface that enables developers to access the design time resources they need to discover and understand a particular API. They may then create an application and track usage from a single portal. The revamped CA Layer 7 Mobile Access Gateway works to simplify the process of adapting internal data, applications and security infrastructure for mobile use. It provides a centralized means to maintain and control security and management policies for information assets that are exposed through APIs.

CA has also rolled out the new CA Mobile Application Management (CA MAM) solution, designed specifically for BYOD enterprises. The offering incorporates CA’s Smart Containerization technology for dynamic control of mobile application access policies at a granular level. It includes geo-fencing, time-fencing, network-fencing and enhanced authentication.

Finally, a new release of the CA Advanced Authentication offering works with CA’s other IAM solutions, providing strong authentication credentials and risk-based evaluation tools specifically for mobile environments.

“The expansion of mobile and cloud use and the growth in API adoption has opened the enterprise and further complicated the security challenge of balancing business enablement with business protection,” said Mike Denning, senior vice president and general manager, security business, CA Technologies. “CA is the only company that can protect data and applications operating in today’s open enterprise from development through runtime and from device to data center.”

CA also announced its CA Management Cloud for Mobility in tandem with the other IAM offerings and updates. Several of the new and updated solutions are included in the cloud offering to help meet the goal of providing end-to-end mobile security and management from the device through to the data center.
